Your Microsoft password is used for many things like logging into your Windows computer, email (Outlook), Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Word, Excel, the Office.com web page, and VPN.  Follow the steps below if you need to change your password for any reason.  If you require assistance, please contact Standard Beverage IT.

  • Enter your email address in the Email or Username field, enter the characters from the picture, then click Next.

  • Choose I forgot my password, then click Next.

  • You must have a verification code sent to your alternate email address or texted to your mobile phone.  If you prefer to use your alternate email address, choose Email my alternate email, then click the Email button.

  • If you prefer to receive a text, choose Text my mobile phone, enter your mobile phone number, then click the Text button.

  • Enter the verification code that was sent to your alternate email or texted to your mobile phone, then click Next.

  • Enter a new password two times, then click Finish.

  • A screen like the following one confirms that your new password was accepted.  If you have a Windows computer continue to the next step.  Otherwise, you are done here.

  • If you have a Windows computer, you will need to sync your new password to it.  If you are at home or away from an SBC facility, please make sure the VPN (Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client) is connected.  Contact SBC IT if you need assistance with VPN.

  • Once VPN is connected (VPN not necessary at an SBC facility), press the following keys on your keyboard at the same time:   (Ctrl)(Alt)(Del)  Choose Lock on the blue screen.

  • This will take you to the startup login screen.  Login with your new password.  You are done.  If your new password does not work, try your previous password.  While usually very fast, the sync of your new password from the Microsoft 365 cloud down to the server in the Lawrence datacenter could be lagging.  Try locking your computer and logging in with your new password in a few minutes.
